I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in assessment and solution-oriented psychological consultations with children, adolescents, and adults. Originally from Minnesota, I received my B.A. in psychology from Columbia College of Columbia University in the City of New York on May 15, 1985, and my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Southern California on December 20, 1991. I have been licensed in California since August 1, 1993, and I have been licensed in Washington state since January 17, 1997. My approach to treatment is active, directive, and collaborative. In my work, I utilize an eclectic cognitive-behavioral approach that focuses on meaningful and measurable behavioral change, clinical relevance, social validity, client satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.

Services My strongest specializations are in the diagnosis and treatment of ADD, AD/HD, Asperger's Syndrome, neurodiversity, and spectrum challenges, anxiety, depression, bipolar and related mood cycling disorders, shyness and social anxiety, childhood disruptive behavioral challenges, and academic underachievement. Although I work well with adolescents and adult clients, my absolute strongest specialization is in work with elementary-aged boys. My work is my passion, and I find great meaning and satisfaction in helping individuals and families gain insight, build skills, improve functioning at school and at work, and resolve the issues that brought them into treatment.
