About

Darlene Rivera, PhD

Dr. Rivera Lavin is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Palm Beach County with more than 17 years of experience in the mental health field. My approach towards therapy and counseling is to be a caring, empathic listener who objectively guides clients to understanding themselves and the origins of their problems to prevent their reoccurrence. My hope is that we discover together the imbalance; whether is emotional, behavioral, spiritual, or psychological that continues to challenge your well-being. My goal is to help you relieve distress, gain insight, learn and utilize healthy coping skills.

I strive to provide my patient's with a safe environment where they can explore their unique issues and begin the process of change and healing. It is important to harmonize your mind and explore the person you are becoming as you experience the world through the positive and negative events. We experience many changes, but we need to explore what to do with the changes and situations; such as grief, divorce, death, effects of combat, work related stress, physical limitations and mental health symptoms. Take your first step and the initiative to search and receive the help you need. It will be a learning experience that you will not regret.

Additionally, we utilize psychological testing for diagnostic certainty, explore symptoms or for specialized evaluations (Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Disability Evaluations and Forensics).

They were easy to reach in an emergency. When I called they answered right away and I was so relieved to hear a friendly voice. They put in the extra effort to make me feel valued and important. They answered my questions and spent a lot of time with me. I didn't feel like they were trying to rush my appointment at all. Getting an appointment at this office wasn't too difficult. One area of improvement that this business is in dire need of is revamping their building to make it more handicap-accessible. It seemed extremely out-of-date and a little unsafe as well.
