About

Earlene Riser, Psychotherapist

Psychology in addition to a Master's degrees in behavioral science. Having practiced for 34 years, doing over 51,000 sessions in my career, I have accumulated extensive experience in working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, anger and grief, along with the stresses of everyday life. As a certified hypnotherapist and teacher of those skills, I find hypnosis very useful in the treatment of a number of issues including PTSD, addictions, and anxiety.
I assist couples with difficult marriages and if necessary, the healthy divorce. I also work with clients who struggle with addictions such as alcohol, drugs, food, sex etc.. Finding the reason for the need to engage in addictive behaviors, rather than just treating the symptoms is the basis of my therapeutic approach.
I believe in a holistic approach, considering mind, body and spirit. All of us possess innate wisdom that gives us direction and great potential. I can help you tap into that wisdom such that you participate in your own healing. These skills are useful long after the therapy is complete. My work with clients is not just a career but a calling.

Dr. Riser has been an excellent resource to my colon/rectal surgery practice. She is adept at hypnotherapy for my IBS patients that have not responded to the usual medical treatment.

Dr. Riser has counselled with me off and on since 1986. She has been most professional in all our dealings. She never broke up a relationship directly, but led me to realize for myself my worth as an individual. In response to Julie Farrell's review, the statement was inaccurate. Dr. Riser did not have "get-to-gathers". However, she did have seminars in which I attended which ended with a dance, but she never danced with clients. Julie Farrell is very manipulative and her review is not of sound information.
