Dr. Eric Nicholson is a fully Board Certified Child and Adolescent, Adult, and Addiction Psychiatrist in solo private practice since 2001. He provides evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for individuals, parents, couples, and families for all Psychiatric and Addictive Disorders. He is an expert in the treatment of Addictive Disorders (Substance Use Disorders) as well as Mood Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Tourette's Syndrome, and Anxiety Disorders, especially Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive spectrum disorders including OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder,Trichotillomania, and Skin Picking employing exposure-based therapies such as Exposure/Ritual Prevention, Habit Reversal Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. Dr. Nicholson will prescribe Psychiatric medications when indicated but generally will promote recovery without medications when possible by emphasizing the individual or family centered therapy, as well as the importance of good nutrition, sleep and exercise. Dr. Nicholson will spend a substantial amount of time with his patients to try to expedite their recovery, by providing long sessions and multiple sessions per week. He doesn't accept any payments directly from health plans or government sponsored plans but will provide a Record of Service for his patients to submit for "Out-of-Network" reimbursement.
