Thomas Hamburgen, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Tom Hamburgen received his B.A. in Psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He subsequently received his M.A. and Ph.D. In Clinical Psychology from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. His APA-approved internship was completed at The Veterans Administration in Buffalo, New York, as well as the State University of New York in Buffalo (SUNY), where he received training from Dr’s. Michelle Craske and Michael Raulin in a new, exposure- based treatment developed by Dr’s. David Barlow and Craske for Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia conducted at the Stress and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the university. Dr. Hamburgen maintained a practice in Rochester, Minnesota for 20 years, where he worked primarily with individuals with OCD and anxiety disorders. He has been a member of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) for many years and is currently a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the International OCD Foundation, of which he has been a member since graduate school.
