Dr. Stryker saw may son for many years and it was an enormous help to my son and my family. I can't think of anything better that could have happened.

My son saw Dr. Duggan for many months. My son grew to admire and adore Stryker. We had to take a break in therapy due to COVID; my son wasn't comfortable initially having therapy sessions online from his bedroom. Over time, with online school, he became more comfortable with the idea. In the intervening months, my son's mental health issues became slightly more serious. When I reached out, Stryker used a disgusted tone when discussing my son's mental health issues and stated that he had no ability to help him. He wasn't kind or compassionate about it. As a therapist, he knows many ways to say things but decided say this to me in a way that was nearly as nasty as possible. It's ok if a patient has issues outside of a therapist's expertise but it can be said nicely and with compassion. Instead, it was said in a way that was unprofessional and cruel. I've had to tell my child that Stryker moved out of the Bay Area to avoid hurting him. As a parent, this weighs on my heart at a time when our family needs all the support we can get--not trauma inflicted by a mental health professional. I would recommend staying away.
