Ken Donaldson, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Relationship problems, depression, anxiety and addiction are some of the most challenging issues today.

These are serious problems that only get worse without help. Trying to fix them yourself can be overwhelming and often self-defeating.

Issues like these will eventually spill over into all areas of your life, causing more conflict, turmoil, arguing, as well as serious health issues.

Even the workplace is affected by depression, anxiety, addiction and relationship problems. Any one of these can negatively impact productivity, employee engagement, and contribute to overall workplace dysfunction.

Here are the facts about depression: Do you know what to do if depression comes knocking on your door, or clocking in at your office? More than 10% of all people in the U.S. will have a depressive episode in their lifetime.
Here are the facts about anxiety: What will you do if you find yourself, or a key employee, struggling with anxiety? Anxiety disorders affect more than 40 million adults in the U.S. Less than one third of those people ever receive treatment.

Here are the facts about addiction: Do you have a plan when addiction shows up in your personal or business life, or in the life of a loved one? Addictive behaviors are at an all-time high. No longer is it just drugs and alcohol, but now we have an epidemic of sexual, gambling, spending and food addiction.

Here are the facts about relationship problems: How are you going to deal with relationship issues when they affect you or your employees? Divorce rates continue to rise and domestic violence is higher than ever. Most people are NOT well educated with the tools to handle relational conflicts. Often times these relationships are very disruptive at the workplace.

Here are the facts about workplace dysfunction: Do you have a plan to properly deal with workplace dysfunction? Sadly, the majority of Americans are already unhappy and actively disengaged in their jobs. When you add depression, anxiety, addiction and/or relationship problems to the mix, you have a surefire formula for organizational dysfunction and disaster.

Furthermore, trying to find a specialist with the proper experience and knowledge to resolve these issues can be a grueling process.

With over 30 years experience of working with mental health, addiction and conflicted relationships, Ken Donaldson has built his practice on helping people have happier and healthier lives, as well as having more harmony at home and at work.

His professional credentials include:

Fox 13 News, Good Day Tampa Bay, NPR, Daytime, News Channel 8, and Studio 10 TV have all had Ken on their shows as a regular guest, and he has appeared in The Tampa Tribune, The St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Bay Times.

After years of seeing too many people struggling with finding happiness in their relationships and fulfillment in their lives, Ken decided to take matters into his own hands. Over the course of several years, Ken researched and reviewed what was helping people live happier and healthier lives, and what most helped them in having fulfilling and lasting relationships. Ken put all of his research together into a book so people would have a guide to creating and living a life that they loved. In his book, Marry YourSelf First! (2005), Ken shows you how to win “The Inside Game of Life” by first creating a powerful relationship with yourself.

As a much younger person Ken had some very close calls and admittedly made numerous bad decisions. He learned from his life experiences and the experiences with his clients, and that has helped him have a good pulse of what people want, need and are struggling with. Ken has been on the front-lines and in the trenches, personally and professionally, helping people resolve their relational, professional and personal issues and challenges. Ken offers creative solutions that work.

Ken’s Mission Statement: “Whether at their home or work, I help people apply emotional intelligence concepts to prepare, adapt, and succeed in facing challenges in their lives.”
