After my wife's short stay at Banner Health , she is a recovering alcoholic, they changed her depression medication from Prozac to effexor. The fact that they give a recovering alcoholic effexor is unbelievable. She can have one drink and be blackout drunk. This actually caused her to loose her high paying job by having one drink at a company function. This has caused us to loose our house and has reeked havoc on our relationship. Even when not drinking her eyes become dilated, she is very forgetful, stumbles and falls quite often, and frequently experiences mania. These symptoms have progressively gotten worse. We have a 7 month old baby that I can no longer even trust in her care because of manic outbursts, acting irrationally, not knowing where she is or what's she is doing, and passed out to a point of unresponsiveness All this when she claims to not have had any alcohol. Baby sitting her is harder than watching our child. It is practically impossible for her to get off this drug, as the withdrawal symptoms are terrible for her to deal with. I would recommend that NOBODY take this terrible drug. Banner health follow ups, none. We took her there for help and have encountered a whole new set of problems and life changing events because of this. Thanks Banner Health.
