Education Graduated from Tulane University in 1986 with a BS in Biochemistry. Then comleted MD degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1990

Dr. Buenaventura completed his internship at Charity hospital in New Orleans in 1991 then went on to complete his residency in 1994 from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.

Dr. Buenaventura served in the United States Air Force from 1994-2002 where he headed the pain management clinic at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

After completion of his active duty service commitment, he oped his private practice in 2003.

There is only one review of this office/doctor and it's from 6 years ago. I'd have to guess that the rest of the people that have visited are too busy dealing with their pain to bother posting.

What a joke of an appointment! The doctor did NOT listen to me. He asked me questions several times that I had already answered. He latched on to the fact that I have neuropathy - when my main and major complaint is the constant sometimes debilitating pain from my hip. I can deal with the neuropathy all day long and was not seeking treatment for that. But the medication he was pushing would NOT help with my bone on bone hip pain - but it would help the neuropathy.

I am having hip replacement in just a few months. I need medication that is stronger than the 800mg of ibuprofen that I take all day, every day to alleviate the pain until I can get to that point. Due to the high number of addicts in this area, no one wants to prescribe anything that will help and my PCP forced me to go here. They would rather leave someone like me - with zero history of addiction issues and at the lowest risk on the assessment they made me take - in pain rather than prescribe something that could help me.
