EducationOwner April Emmons began her journey with yoga as a fitness goaled student in 1999. After a lower back injury in 2003 she began seeing a therapist who instructed her from a medical aspect the benefits of yoga asana. Healing took place and April continued on with her personal practice of asana, pranyama, and meditation. In an attempt to pass on the good news to others, April began training for her RYT200 certification from City Yoga in Indianapolis, Indiana under gurus Marsha Pappas and Nicki Myers. She became a Registered Yoga Instructor July of 2008. In August of 2009, April recieved another certification, 12 Step Recovery Yoga through the "Off the Mat, Into the World" organization; focusing on personal or family struggles with addictions; linking emotional recovery and physical recovery. April's future goals include study of yoga for weight loss, diabetes,& depression....and to share the spiritual blessing of yoga with everyone.
April's primary practice is vinyasa (flow)and Hatha yoga. Combining traditional and modern styles & philosophy. She also instructs meditation and yoga nidra (relaxation) using pranyama (breath work).
