About

Karen Adair, 200RYT

Hatha to Hatha Flow practice for all levels. Karen Adair is a 200hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher). This certification is internationally recognized by the Yoga Alliance. She received her 200hr training with Alyson Foreacre at Yoga Den in Jacksonville, FL, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, providing her with in depth knowledge of sanskrit (language), asana (yoga positions), anatomy, and philosophy of the practice of yoga. She teaches a whole yoga practice embracing all 8 limbs. Her training and certification is in the dual traditions of Sun Power (heated freestyle vinyasa) yoga and Hatha style Mind-Body yoga. Through her training and experience she brings to Ocala a style of yoga to suit many levels of physical fitness. Her current classes are Hatha Mind-Body practices for all levels, which offer modifications, assists, adjustments, and freedom to evolve your personal practice. Karen also trained in Continuing Education workshops with the eminent yogi, Beryl Bender Birch, author of Power Yoga, Beyond Power Yoga, and her most recent, Boomer Yoga.

PRIVATE SESSIONS
Individual private yoga practices are available for $35.00 per lesson. Karen can come to your home or workplace, wherever there is space for two side by side yoga mats! They generally are longer practices, because Karen teaches most every asana with indepth alignment and muscle use to help you find your expression of each pose at your level, whether you are a beginner, new to yoga, or new to overall exercise, or a more advanced physically fit individual, or a practicing yogi, who wants to deepen his or her understanding of the practice of yoga. Individuals receive assists, adjustments, and modifications on nearly every asana (pose), and an extended massage is offered during a full 15 minute savasana (relaxation), including calves & feet, hands, shoulders & arms, neck & face. For these special classes, it is recommended that you set aside at least a full 100 minutes.

True Yoga is more than physical exercise. Yoga is not a religion. It is a practice that benefits not only physically, but cultivates an emotional and mental well being. The word yoga means "to yoke", and symbolizes the union of the mind and body. It teaches awareness of our internal mental and physical health through the practice of the asana (positions) and pranayama (breath). Conscious breathing not only energizes and feeds the body and brain, but also calms the body and mind. It is this constant mindfulness that makes yoga different from other repetitive exercise. The practice of yoga involves more conscious graceful control of movement through the breath and awareness of benefit, rather than reps so often done with momentum. Yoga is proven to relieve stress, tension, anxiety, and mild depression. It improves breath capacity, digestion, cardiovascular circulation, and some regulation of the endocrine system, including pituitary and thyroid, and increases metabolism. Yoga increases flexibility, builds lean svelte muscles, and aligns the spine.

The practice of yoga benefits the most sedentary person, by teaching them movement and breath, the foundation of calorie burning exercise, as well as the most fit athlete by teaching them deeper stretches and flexibility, and isometric as well as isotonic exercise. Yoga develops keener mental clarity and focus for the experienced athlete as well as the person just seeking a healthier lifestyle!

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. The restrooms at this provider's office were clean and well-maintained. You could tell that they cleaned them regularly. The class was challenging, and I learned a lot. I left very satisfied.

Karen is fantastic, class is always different, she corrects your poses and often helps in the stretching poses. Plus the massage at the end is a real treat!
--They offer the best pricing I've ever seen. I couldn't believe how little I ended up having to pay. They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. Let me just say that this business is in one of the safest areas around and you will be pleasantly surprised at how lovely the surroundings are. I've been to one or two places that had a really bad smell. I was worried I would encounter it here too but I didn't notice anything.--
