My 93 dad has lived at Garden Plaza of Lawrenceville for almost 2 years independently. It is a beautiful facility. However when my Father fell last week on August 29th and was hospitalized, I was told he cannot come back without 24/7 supervision. He was thrown out with no place to go and no notice. The hospital has found nothing wrong and haven't admitted him. They are keeping him "under observation" because he is homeless. He has now spent 5 days an indigent in a hospital. I have been able to secure a bed at a new facility ~ The Oaks at Braselton but they won't have a bed for my father until September 5th. The director of Garden Plaza of Lawrenceville is Steve Iroff. He did NOTHING to help me. He didn't help by giving me options or a list of agencies that can help or anything at all. He gave me no resources for 24 hour care nor did he offer to move my father to the other Century Park facility which is in the same complex as where he lives now. It is virtually across the parking lot. He just told me that my father is not welcome back without 24/7 care. No one else that lives there has this requirement. We weren't given any notice at all. My father has always paid all his bills on time. Even though he paid, he couldn't return. He is 93 and uses a walker. How in the world is it legal to throw this man out with no warning?
