I was a patient at the ER dept. on 12/18/2013. The ER doctor (Dr. Aham) was so rude and disrespectful to me, and was unconcerned about my problem. I acquired a great pain in my knee and was very concerned that something was seriously wrong. He asked me where it hurt and I told him it was around my knee and calf area. Then he said "well which one is it, the knee or calf?". Then he asked to see both knees. When he examined me he was grabbing my leg and poking so hard I told him he was hurting me, then he got an attitude and squeezed my leg with disrespect. He said, " I don't diagnose pain, I will give some pain killers". I then told him that I was not interested in pain killers I was concerned for my leg. I then asked if it could be a blood clot or maybe a pulled tendon. I felt like I was the doctor. He said "I don't know, what do you want me to do about it?" I asked could we test it for a blood clot? I felt so uncomfortable, the whole time he wouldn't even look me in the eye. After the ultra sound showed that there was no clot, he again tried to write me a prescription for pain killers and an anti inflammatory. I told him again I was not interested in pain killers, I was upset and crying, but wanted to know what else it could be. I was then told he was not that kind of doctor and there was nothing else he could do for me. He said he would be right back with my prescription for a pain killer. By this time I was so upset I told him I just wanted another doctor. He left, never returned, instead a nurse came in and tried to give the prescription for pain killers. I explained to her I just wanted to know what was wrong with my leg. She then told me "the ER is for life threatening situations and that I needed to go see my regular doctor if I wanted a diagnoses, there was nothing they could do for me." She was very rude and dis-concerned for my well being. I was very upset, crying, and limping. Was sent out the door with no concern for my well being. I have never been treated so badly in my life. I will be taking this complaint further and will NEVER go to that ER again!
