About

Elaine Hyman, PsyD

Hours for service by appointment, Mondays through Saturdays. I accept a wide-range of insurance including BC/BS, Aetna, Cigna, AmeriHealth.

When someone calls to make an appointment, they can expect me to answer the phone or return the call in less than two hours, typically. Questions are welcome and invited to help the person feel comfortable. If an appointment is scheduled, I will take basic demographic information over the phone, and provide driving directions. In a series of four face-to-face sessions, I listen closely to concerns and worries, concluding this series with a recommendation for best possible treatment outcome. Psychoanalysis is the treatment of choice for life problems as it addresses patterns at the deepest levels, employing the I-Thou relationship with the therapist to facilitate lasting change and optimal empowerment.

The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. Every time I go, I'm always surprised by how respectful and courteous she is. I've never been treated with more respect by any other professional. Dr. Hyman goes out of her way to make everyone feel equally respected and cared for. I've seen client favoritism at some of the other places I've been, and I really appreciate the extra effort they make to avoid that here. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. Dr. Hyman would never leave me unattended and they always go the extra mile to make me feel cared for.
