About

James Hertel, Ph.D.

I opened my practice in 2002. I am a licensed Psychologist and a marriage counselor and a MO Board of Psychologists Certified Health Services Provider in Psychology. My practice is in Columbia, MO at 1316 Old Hwy. 63 South, Suite 101.

I am taking new clients and see adult clients for marriage and couples counseling, college student concerns and individual adult psychotherapy. These areas are where my interests and strengths lie. An overwhelming percentage of my clients verbalize how they have gained insight in a brief period; sometimes in one session. They say that they feel understood, safe and comfortable with me. Many say they have "never shared as much with anyone in their life", even other therapists.

I do work with most all health insurance plans in Mid-Missouri. Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely, Dr. Jim Hertel, Licensed Psychologist 1316 Old Hwy. 63 South, Columbia, MO, 65201 Phone: 573-424-2605

Dr. Hertel made sure every single question I had was answered, and was always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. He was so warm and professional, and made the whole experience that much better. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting Dr. Hertel that I've referred several friends. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all.
