I took my young dog (less than 1 year old) to this vet because she was BITING the fur off her hind quarters. Robby Chappel concluded she had MANGE even though I reassured him several times she was BITING the fur off - it wasn't just coming off (I had a dog with mange years before and knew the difference). He did a rectal exam with this gloved THUMB to see if her anal glands needed to be expelled. Really? A big a** human THUMB in my little dog's rump? He then proceeded to tell me it was required to give her Ivermectin shots (apparently the most painful shot you can give a dog). Her first one - all seemed fine until we got into the lobby and she started yelping uncontrollably, in so much pain that poop fell out of her butt involuntarily! She was hollering and jumping around all over. Folks waiting in the lobby were freaking out. I had to take her outside and it took 5 or so minutes for her to stop yelping from the pain. Needless to say he followed me out and told me she'd need a "series" of these shots. I took her back once more, and once more only - it required a doctor, two nurses and myself to hold her down OUTSIDE to give her the shot. It turns out - from seeing another vet - she was merely allergic to a flea bite (even tho she was on flea preventative). None of this CRAP Dr. Chappell put her through was required! And, I found out later that Ivermectin can be administered ORALLY!!!!!! Forevermore - my dog has been extremely freaked out when I take her to the vet. These two visits forever marred her. She is now 7. She hyperventilates and I have to give her a dog barbituate just for an annual exam. I WISH CHAPPELL WOULD HAVE SOMEONE DO THAT CRAP TO HIM! SCREW HIM!
