I inherited several cats from a friend who passed away. These cats were clients of Dr Biederman. Some of the cats were diagnosed with thyroid conditions and on meds. 2 of them were young (around 5yo) some were also on other meds. I had to insist on copies of the records from the vet and had another well regarded vet look them over. Reading the records myself, seeing many inconsistencies, I deduced the same conclusion as the vet I had look at them. The many notes in Dr Biedermans hand writing from the many, many, many office visits of the cats as well as the actual test results (again of many tests), it was clear the younger cats did not need thyroid medicine at any point, under Dr. Biederman. I did ask her about this when I first was in charge of these cats and she took an attitude stating to me she was treating cats for conditions they have. Well they didn't have the conditions she claimed and she was ripping my friend off for a lot of money with tests, office visits and medicines the cats did not need. I was able to adopt the cats out to new homes. After not given the cats the meds Dr Biederman insisted they need for several months, the cats were tested for thyroid and other conditions. The tesst proved they were absolutely healthy cats with no need for thyroid or any other meds. That was several years ago and the cats today are still as healthy and only have been to the vet for annual vaccinations. Since them I have heard more stories from others who are going and have gone to this vet and she is, in my opinion continuing to rip people off with unnecessary test and other procedures. Some of these people have already just switched to other vets. Stay clear of this vet, she does not have your pets best interest in mind.
