I wish they had half stars because I would add 1/2 star +4 full stars. I’ve been going to Saint Francis since about 2016 when my other vet closed their clinic. I decided to go outside of the Iowa city area, with the hopes That if property taxes and overhead were lower there, my veterinary charges would be less. One of the first things that needed to be done was my terrier had to have two teeth out which should’ve been detected prior to this. I really liked that they have a set rate per extracted tooth,
And everything is itemized and explained for every procedure and examination. I’ve had a couple situations where they couldn’t get my dog in for a while, but she had an allergic rash which was in her history. I took some good pictures and emailed them to the vet and he gave me Instructions which helped immensely. Another time, the same terrier wouldn’t eat anything. She would drink her water, but didn’t want anything to do with her food, even when I soaked it to make it softer. About an hour after I tried to feed, I found that she had licked my standard poodles bowl to get whatever dust what is left in it and she had left smears of blood around the edges of the bowl where she was licking. I called and again, couldn't get in for an appointment, as the vets schedule was busy all day. They proposed a day later in the week, but by that time she would've been five days without food. They gave me the option I'm dropping her off fairly early in the morning and leaving her there. Between his already scheduled surgeries, he took a look at Lola and found that, sure enough, a piece of calculi Head broken off on one of your teeth and was cutting her tongue and inside of her cheek.

I just appreciate that they take the fact that I'm a retired medical professional with knowledge of mammal physiology and trust me to know what can wait for when the vet is free and what is urgent, and needs to be seen right away. My vet expenses have been lower than they were when my veterinarian was based in Iowa city
