my 18 yr old daughter took her degu to this vet on Friday before the new year. was told that he was getting older but he had pneumonia and that it was best to get fluid in him and leave him with the vet so he could be watched. she was told when she left that she would be called and/or she could call to check on him. no answer saturday... no voicemail ability...no afterhour number...so we were left waiting for 3 days for an update on our pet. my daughter had to call on tuesday 1-2-2018 when they reopened to get told someone would have to check on him and then let her know. she then was told that he did not make it. we went to the office on saturday and know that no one was there - yet we were told the dr was checking on him all weekend. when my daughter was waiting for someone to bring her deceased pet to her - who we have had for many years - she heard the dr say to his assistant " oh they are here for that degu"... no respect for her feelings, no caring, no compassion - and then said " we will waive your weekend fees " -
seriously - what in the #$@#$ could you possibly charge her for ? you were not checking on this pet and your entire team acted as if her feelings for her pet were meaningless.
Everyone understands that pets pass when they are near the end of their life expectancy but if you decide to be a physician - you need to learn how to be compassionate to the people that entrust their pets to you.
It would have been more decent for you to tell her to take him home and tell her how to watch him over the weekend rather than letting her wait to hear you inconsiderate comments. Not to mention the fact that you couldnt spare 5 minutes to talk to her and address her pet by his name - because he has one even if you are that selfish to acknowledge it. You owed her and her pet that much.

I am business owner and I assure you that i will NOT refer anyone to you ... in fact i will DETER people from using you. I will also be sure to pass this to anyplace that i can review your establishment.

You should take a lesson in compassion...some day you may expect someone to give it to you
