Wow! I first went to Dr Uzzell for couples counseling. My boyfriend and I were having issues with his chronic lying. Went 2 times and all seemed ok. I stopped going and my boyfriend continued to go to him for about 9 months...about 2 times per month. Recently (Jan 2011) I had another issue with my boyfriend lying and new evidence of his continued abuse of prescription drugs. We decided to make another appointment with Dr. Uzzell. That was a mistake. Shortly after, our appointment started, I noticed a different mood in the room. I was disgusted by the so call professional who clearly sided with my boyfriend and didn't question him at all about the drug use. I mentioned that my boyfriend brought Ecstasy pills on our trip to Vegas...through the airport security without my knowledge and the Dr. didn't say a word. I had printed out photos of line residue from my countertops (to show that I was not crazy and my boyfriend had been busting up and snorting drugs) and the only thing that Dr. Uzzell said was "that shows no proof. How do you know that was not face powder?" WHAT??!!!! Made it out to see that I was the crazy one. The Dr told us that we like to fight with each. Ok...yeah. When I asked the Dr directly what would he do if his partner continued to lie to him, he would not answer. I asked him repeatedly what should I do when my partner lies to my face. He would not answer, got red in the face, moved up in his chair and started getting loud and telling me that I dont know who I am. WHAT???? Something very odd was going on in that therapy session. I would NEVER in a million years go back to see this man. I was totally disrespected and ganged up on. He is not impartial and sits there and doesnt answer and valid questions.
