I know someone who works at Byron Center Manor and they tell me all of the things some of the employees are doing. The Residents are not getting the quality of care that you would expect them to get. The treatments (walks, exercise, etc. ) they are suppose to be getting are not getting done and the employees sign the records that they are doing them. One of the residents was sick for over a week and they did not notify the family so when her family came to visit her they saw how sick she was and took her to the ER and she has pneumonia now. It is a horrible place and I would never want one of my grandparents living there. The employees are outright rude to the residents and they get away with it. You get rewarded for being a lazy worker, and in trouble or fired if you have a problem or try to bring it to management's attention that the residents are not getting very good care. They do not care. It is a business and it is all about MONEY!!

I didn't experience any unnecessary pain during my visit, and I was amazed at how much better I felt after I left. They would never suggest that I buy something that wasn't necessary, and never pressured me. They were always very considerate and professional. They always make an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They always listen to every question or concern I may have.

I only attend the adult day care about once a month, however, I always enjoy my time there. I'm younger than most others there but I have MS and cannot be left alone for long periods of time. It also gives my husband/caregiver a much needed break.
