Primrose in Duluth , mm. Is not a place for your elderly parent. I have stayed in my moms room with her for over two weeks. Since I live out of state. I have seen everything at night. Especially alarming in the assisted living is listening to one man scream for help each night and having to spend time trying to find staff. I also have tested and found that when an occupant uses their call button it can be up to 45 minutes before they are attended to. The head nurse has a lot of issues where she takes everything personal and the lies to Drs and manager what is really going on. The corporate office was here yesterday and of course the head nurse was on vacation. Before leaving for vacation I personally watch her going through charts and had a huge box of papers she was shreading. . She got mad at our family before she went on vacation cause we told the dr the truth and since being gone the kitchen staff was ordered to single her out and not deliver a meal to my mothers room They made her sign something in December and although they did not enforce this they were told to do it to her now. I have pictures of patients getting their meals boxed and delivered but they won't do for my mom and she is diabetic. Before arriving here I was informed the head nurse continued to urge my moms power of attorney to call the Dr and put her on seraquil. They also gave her stuff to make her bowels move often. She had a accident and we were told it will take six weeks for her to adjust. After checking with the state of MN this seraquil medication is not allowed in any nursing home as it is considered a drug that does what restraints use to. They don't care about the individual here and if you make complaints that you are not receiving house keeping meals etc they will find a way to evict you since they don't want to do the work I am sad for the families who have people in worse shape than my mom and dont have a large family to check on them more often. This would be a much better place you had an honest head nurse and one that's not going through mental issues. She told me when I arrived a few weeks ago that my mom was doing great! In just the time I have been here they have forgotten my moms showers meals and house cleaning. They also claimed they do sliding scale diabetics. But because of family being here they assumed we understood diabetis and my moms blood sugar went hay wire. This isn't the first time corporate has been notified and this will be the last since not only is this woman being evicted but our family would never put her in such a poorly run place. The sales director is probably the most honest sincere person here! Don't let this place drain your elderly parents bank account there are much better ones in the area.
