This is the WORST medical facility I've ever visited. And it's a shame I'm saying this because I love their OB/GYN clinic, but their Adult Medicine clinic and everyone who works there is TRASH!

I waited until I wrote this review because I wanted to see if anything would change after my very first visit.

First visit 02/19/2019: I visited the Adult Medicine clinic on my birthday last week. The receptionist who works at the front desk is VERY condescending and rude! It was raining that day and of course, I had my umbrella. After handing me the paperwork for me to fill out, some water dripped from my umbrella onto the document. I never filled out the paper, so I returned to the front desk and asked if I could exchange it for another one. The receptionist to me no, and further stated the water will dry and I can just write around it. Then he quickly added it's because they don't have many copies of the forms. I knew that was BS from the start, but I brushed it aside because I didn't want to make a scene.

I shook the document to make it dry faster before filling it out. During that time another patient approached the front desk. Once I was finished filling out the paper, I stood from my seat, awaited a short distance behind her to give her privacy.

Another patient came after me and stood near the wall to the side of the receptionist's desk. After the receptionist was finished with the first patient, I assumed I would be next. He completely skipped over me to tend to the patient that came after me despite knowing I was there first! I immediately became irate and marched to the desk to hand the receptionist my paperwork. He took it without looking at me and I turned around and sat in my seat again.

I was called to the back and was told to wait in a room and a doctor will be with me shortly. A few minutes pass by and I hear a knock at the door. I assume it's the doctor so I told the person to come in. Lo and behold! It's the receptionist at the front desk who enters my room and tells me I need to pay $20 at the desk. I instantly became alarmed because my first thought was 'What if I was undressed?' Again, I thought the person knocking at the door was the DOCTOR. But no! It was the RECEPTIONIST! He made me feel even MORE uncomfortable during my first visit to the Adult Medicine clinic.

I left the room and paid the co-payment and returned back to the room. After I saw the nurse practitioner I was told to visit the Lab and another person named Mr. Larry. After leaving the Lab I visited Mr. Larry and after receiving my referral, I explained to him what transpired at the Adult Medicine clinic. He apologized for my uncomfortable visit and I spoke with two people afterward, one of those people was the Adult Medicine supervisor.

The supervisor made me feel even more at unease. While I explained everything that happened in Adult Medicine, he began grinning like my experience was funny. The supervisor did apologize and told me he hopes that my initial visit wouldn't deter me from returning to the FHC. He told me he would also speak with the receptionist about how I was feeling. I told him I'm scheduled for a follow-up visit the following week. He grinned again and I felt my follow-up visit would be more of the same. And I was right.

Second visit 02/26/2019: My appointment was scheduled for 3:45 pm and I arrived at 3:30 pm. I checked in the front desk and of course, the receptionist from last week was there. Our exchange was a tension-filled one (indicating he knew who I was from the week prior), but I paid my co-pay, filled out the paperwork and sat down.

Two or three patients were there before and after they were sent to the back to be seen, naturally I thought I would be next. A few more patients came after me. They were seen before me and I was left sitting in the waiting area by myself. The time is now after 4 pm, meaning I was there for at least 30 minutes waiting. I was called to the back, had my vitals checked and was told to wait in the waiting area.

Once I returned to the waiting area I sat and waited. Again, I was the only patient there. Another 15 minutes and I was called to the back and was told to wait in a room and a doctor will see me shortly. The time is now after 4:15 pm. I place my belongings down and cradle my head in my folded arms to rest my eyes. When opening my eyes again and lifting my head, I pulled out my phone and the time is now 4:38 pm. And still no doctor. I'm irate at this point.

I leave the room and return to the front desk. The receptionist wasn't there, so I speak with (I'm assuming) one of the technicians and ask them if I could leave because I've been waiting and it's clear that I'm not going to see a doctor. They forgot that was even in the room!!!

So now the (still presumably) technician is trying to accommodate me. The receptionist returns to the desk and she informs him that she's taking care of me. She also asks him what time was my appointment and if he checked me in. He seemed ignorant of everything that was going on. I begin to suspect the receptionist he purposefully did something to negatively affect the order in which I would be seen. I'm REALLY not happy now! Another (I'm assuming) technician walks past and makes a joke at my expense saying I've been waiting in their clinic since last night. I didn't find it funny. The other medical "professionals" did.

The first woman I was speaking with asked me was I here to pick up some test results. I told her yes. She showed the print-out of my personal test results to the receptionist to look over. I'm assuming she was confirming with him about what my follow-up visit was for. Then she slides the document over the desk towards me. I'm embarrassed at this point, but I stay silent about what happened, fold the paper, and place it in my purse.

Next, I began to ask since I never got the chance to see the doctor and it's been over an hour since I've been waiting, could I get a refund of my co-payment. Before I would get the full sentence out, the receptionist makes a call to someone in billing/payment center and asks if they could cancel my debit card payment. He speaks with someone on the phone for a few minutes, then disconnects the call. He tells me my co-payment was canceled and it'll be deleted from my transaction in a few days. I ask if I could get a print out of a receipt, but he tells me he can't, but it'll be gone from my bank statement within a few days. I nod and say ok.

I sit down and retrieve my phone to check my bank account for the transaction for the FHC. The transaction was pending. The receptionist kept trying to get me to leave the Adult Medicine clinic by constantly telling me "Thank you", and "Have a good day". The first time he's actually said those words to me during BOTH of my visits!

I eventually leave and I tell myself I'll give this a few days to determine if I will leave a public review or not. I did fill out a form briefly leaving my opinion about my visit to the FHC's Adult Medicine clinic.

Today 02/28/2019: I get an email notification of my bank statement. I log in my bank's account to check it. Sure enough, the FHC processed the $20 co-payment. I'm LIVID!!! I immediately call the number to the medical facility to get in contact with the corporate office. I speak with a young woman and explained to her what happened. I did compliment the OB/GYN clinic but told her I'm NEVER returning to the Adult Medicine clinic. She told me I was misinformed by the receptionist and that I should've received a refund for my co-payment then. She took my name and my phone number and told me she'll leave a message for a supervisor to call me after 5 pm. It's approximately 6:43 pm and I never got that phone call.

I was belittled, humiliated, made fun of, had my personal test results exposed, ridiculed, lied to, and now I'm out of $20!!!! Not even their OB/GYN clinic can make me return back to the FHC!!! I will NEVER step foot in that building again! Their medical "professionals" there are nothing short of unprofessional and absolutely disgusting!

Awesome administrative and clinical staff @ the Cobb location for The Family Health Centers of GA. They were able to ask all of my medical concerns and the cost was very reasonable even on a sliding fee scale. Greatly appreciate all of you !!!!
