This "ER" was more like a dirty, rundown Urgent Care. If I could give negative stars, I would. We are from out-of-state and just went to the closest ER - which was St. Luke's. My teenager suffered a traumatic injury to her knee. It had swelled up to the size of a small watermelon and was really warm to the touch, in addition to being extremely painful.

The first Dr to come into her room called her by the wrong name and started asking her questions about STDs. She asked what did that have to do with her knee injury. He said "you're not here for vaginal pain? You're not (name of another patient)?" Pretty sure he violated HIPAA.

When the next Dr came in, he said that they don't do x-rays or imaging there and that we basically just wasted our time coming to this ER and released her without a diagnosis or doing any x-ray or imaging to see if anything was broken - but they still charged me the co-pay, without having provided any medical assistance.

We left St. Luke's and drove straight to Banner Hospital - what a difference. That hospital was clean and modern. The staff and Drs were all extremely nice. They actually do x-rays and imaging there, you know, like you'd expect at a hospital - and they were able to diagnose my teenager's injury and get her started on treatment.

I wouldn't return to this ER if my life depended on it and I was a block away!! I experienced he worst display of empathy and emergency care for a fellow human. The short, African American nurse who calls himself D ( w/ tattoos along his arm and down to one hand, and bares a skull cap/ wave cap) was so rude that I left the ER prematurely without discharging; post car accident. The only reason why my Brother stayed was because he was far worse off and needed to make sure that his injuries are covered by insurance. The hospital is already trying to bill me for 0 care. Between the nurses and billing, there should be criminal charges for an abject lack of care aka medical negligence and financial fraud.
