Their office looked like the cleaning crew may have skipped a week. When I told them about my situation, they were somewhat understanding, but they could have been more caring. They didn't try very hard to understand where I was coming from. I spend a little too much time in the waiting room. I've waited longer at other offices, but I was hoping to be seen sooner. My pet seemed pretty anxious to leave compared to other places we've been too. It would have been better if this veterinarian had just tried a little harder to be more compassionate.

The problem began immediately upon our arrival for our appointment. The staff at the front desk were more interested in finishing their personal conversation rather than greeting us or getting us signed in. When I asked to be signed in the attitude I received was annoyance. After waiting a while for our appointment I asked if we were going to be brought back any time soon or would we have time to go out. I was ignored. Instead of giving up right then, I proceeded with the appointment (since I had driven an hour to get there and the doctor had been a recommendation). The doctor was ok and seemed very knowledgeable. Based on this we decided to go ahead and have him perform the procedure. The office wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't so clean that I didn't have some unease. However, due to a blood condition my dog takes a daily antibiotic and was going to begin taking a second 3 days before surgery so I felt that any infection issues would be mitigated. The surgery was scheduled for a Tuesday. By the Friday before I hadn't received a call with the details on the prescription for the antibiotic. I called them. When I asked why I hadn't received any information yet, I was told it was because they were too busy and that they would have gotten to me that day. Again, not the best impression. I also had a question about the prescription and asked that the doctor call me back. I was given attitude about the doctors availability to call me back. It wouldn't be until after 4. I said that I would wait. Instead, I received a call from someone else. That call went poorly as well. I indicated that I'd like to talk to an office manager and was told that the doctor was essentially the office manager. I asked him to call me back then (which was my original request to begin with). Needless to say, by the time the doctor called me late in the afternoon, he already had an attitude that his staff couldn't have possibly provided poor service. He even stated that he could check his phone bill when it arrived to prove that they had called me with the prescription information on a prior date! I hope he does because he will see that his staff were not honest with him. Obviously the staff never communicated my true complaint for why I wanted him to call me. They instead inflamed the situation and were not truthful. When I tried to explain this to the doctor he refused to believe that his staff were anything other than perfect and proceeded to hang up on me. In my opinion, any business owner that refuses to deal with customer complaints is not someone that I want to operate on my pet.
