My husband and I initially went in to Lincare for a cane for his recent back surgery on Jan 22, 2015. We indicated that this was a Workmen's Comp surgery & any supplies were to be paid by them. They stated that since Work Comp was notorious for NOT PAYING that it could take up to 2 weeks before they would get approval to issue us a cane. We contacted our Case Worker at Work Comp & she said all they had to do was call her & she would give them verbal approval. We contacted Lincare to give them specifics, i.e. case worker's name & phone number. We left numerous phone messages with Lincare & were consistently told that the manager was 1)out of the office 2) working on it 3) busy 4) in a meeting. No phone calls were ever returned to us regarding the status. I finally called our case worker on Friday Jan 30th. She said she's never gotten a phone call from Lincare & told us to go ahead & purchase the cane, then send in a reimbursement form & she'd go ahead & take care of it. Upon visiting Lincare to pick up the cane, I was kept waiting for at least 15 minutes. When the front desk lady finally came back with the cane, she said we didn't have to pay as the manager was on the phone with Work Comp getting the approval. Needless to say, this whole situation could have been avoided if they had handled this days ago & we wouldn't have had to wait so long for this needed apparatus. We are extremely upset by the lack of contact from this Lincare office & neglect of returning our numerous phone calls plus a total lack of customer service. Whatever the amount of a purchase, whether it's $50 or $500, all customers should be treated with the same amount of respect & courtesy. I hope we never have to deal with this company here again.
