I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea so the doctor contacted AmericanHealth Patient for me to come in and meet with the respitory therapist for a C-PAP. The therapist was professional and very knowledgable. However, I returned the C-PAP to AmercanHealth after using it 2 weeks. I hated the C-PAP. I was lethargic and sleep deprived from having to use it. Anyway, the receptionist/administrative assistant/customer service (I don't know her exact job title) didn't appear to be very happy I was returning the machine. ACTUALLY she was trying to intimidate me. She had the audacity to call Geisinger while I was sitting right in front of her. She contacted the Nurse Practicioner who I had previous appointments with at Geisinger, and like a drill sergeant, she started barking out questions so everyone in the office could hear! She asked the nurse if I'm at high risk of losing my driver's license if I refuse to use the C-PAP. This B****was trying to intimidate in any way possible. After she got off the phone with Geisinger she asked me if I still wanted to return the C-PAP. I told her I'm not going to use the C-PAP again! I could see she was not very happy. You could say she was pissed. To make things more uncomfortable for me, another customer was standing right behind me the entire time listening on the whole conversation and even giving his own opinion on the situation! Talk about patient confidentiality and professionalism! It doesn't exist there.
A week later I went to Geisinger to meet with my doctor and the nurse who was the one who spoke to that evil witch from AmericanHealth Patient. Once I sat down in the waiting room and the nurse came in, she was apologizing profusely for the behavior of that SheDevil. The nurse said she was mortified and embarrassed by the way she conducted herself. She also stated that if possible she will not be referring AmericanHome Patient to their patients. You see, the C-PAP is not the only solution for sleep apnea. I ended up having a tonsillectomy and I no longer have sleep apnea!
The nurse explained to me that the reason why that SheDevil did what she did is that AmericanHealth would be losing money. These machines are very expensive and it's the health insurances that end up paying a hefty monthly fee for them.
Avoid this place at all cost. I will never ever deal with that company and SheDevil again. They are extremely unprofessional and the receptionist totally lacks class on every level.
