This pharmacy has the most unprofessional, uncaring and insulting staff of any pharmacy I've ever used, and I've been on maintenance meds for more than 15 years.
I do not recommend using The Island Pharmacy even if you live on Tybee Island and it's convenient. I encourage you to take the drive over the bridge to Kroger or Publix before dropping your medications at this pharmacy.
They are lazy and confused. None of the staff there could ever be confused with being the sharpest tool in the box. After claiming it costs the pharmacy $3 to run a medication through insurance company, the Island Pharmacy hung up on Humana twice after realizing they made a terrible mistake with my meds.
Returning our conference call again, with Humana, Island Pharmacy refused to run those meds through again because of that $3 charge, even though Humana told the pharmacists the meds can be filled.
They hung up on me several times claiming I was trying to fill controlled substances too early; Cymbalta and Abilify. Neither are controlled or was it too early to fill. They are just belligerent and ignorant old ladies who think they are better than those of us who need medication for health.
