First let me say that the office staff is fantastic and very caring. My one star is for Dr. Shilling. My poor Isabel (dog) was sick from Nov 10th till when she died in the early morning of December 4th. I first took her in on Nov.10th due to diarrhea and Dr. Schilling gave her pain pills because I mentioned she didn’t have the ability to jump as she used to have. He weighed Isabel and she weighed 32 lbs. This is a dog that just about a month prior weighed 41lbs. Then she started vomiting and not really into eating. On Nov 17th she vomited so bad that I thought she had pancreatitis and took her in on Nov. 21st Dr. Richards saw her then and the bill was 357.00 with medications. He said he couldn’t find what was causing her issues and now she weighed 28lbs so we would treat the symptoms. She seemed a little better but she still was not eating and vomiting a little. So I called and the prescriptions were refilled on Nov 28th[94.00 for that] then on Nov 30th I took Isabel in to be boarded and explained she was still vomiting and hadn’t eaten in 2 days and I was stressed out and Isabel had no energy at all. When I picked her up on Dec2nd Dr Shilling had done the same test as was done on Nov 21st and decided Isabel had a bad infection of some type and prescribed Cephalexin, metronidazole, and novox. On Saturday Isabel wouldn’t eat and at 9pm started vomiting dark blood for about a half hour and died at 2am Sunday. This ineffectual treatment cost us 253.00 that we would have rather used to have Isabel humanly put to sleep. No one has bothered to call and see how Isabel is doing with the medication and the side effects of three medicines say can cause loss of appetite and vomiting but Dr. Shilling prescribe them anyway. Please take your pet somewhere else for treatment.
