July,24th 2009 Dr. Fenwick did ACL surgery on my 3 yr. old pit bull. A few weeks later I brought him back to see Dr. Fenwick because he was dragging his foot. Dr. Fenwick said it's nothing and to be patient. Another several weeks later I brought my dog back again because his foot was getting worse not better, and he now had a sore from the foot dragging. Dr. Fenwick now said " Oh that is unrelated to the surgery and would have happened anyway, and it's only a matter of time before it happens to his other leg" Well I'm no Doctor ...but that did not make sense to me. Especially when he didn't try to find the cause, no x-ray, nothing. I took Romeo to another Vet who just by looking at him walk said the suture might be rubbing the nerve, than he also took an x-ray which showed the suture was not attached and the clip was on the nerve. The Doctor asked how long this has been because the damage to the nerve would be permanent. Maybe the reason why Dr. Fenwick didn't look for the cause of Romeo's lameness is because he already knew it. After the surgery we discovered the the suture was still attached but placed in the wrong spot and clip was rubbing the nerve causing permanent nerve damage. Now Romeo has to pay because of Dr. Fenwick. He was at Jersey Shore Veterinary Emergency Service Rt. 70 Lakewood, NJ but is now at the Spay and Neuter clinic off Fischer Blvd. in Toms River DR. Fenwick was fined by the NJ State Board of Veterinary examiners for not keeping records, not for his poor skills. His Insurance Company wanted to settle for $2,255.69 only if we did not tell anyone or talk about this case. We refused the money so we can let people know the type of Vet. he truly is.
I just changed over to this vets and am so glad i did. They are top notch and it is so convenient to my home They truly care for the animals. The office is neat, clean and attractive. They are willing to accomodate in most every way. I am over the moon about this place. My pups love it too :)
