The team members of Southside Veterinary Hospital are united by our love of companion animals. Our primary concern is to restore and maintain our patients' health, while making them feel at home and treating them like our own.

Being a small animal hospital, we are able to achieve our goal of providing your pet with optimal health care, while still being able to give the extra love and attention they deserve.

Dr. Kilpatrick and Southside Veterinary Hospital offer a variety of services for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. We do annual exams and vaccines, spays and neuters, radiographs, dental cleanings, puppy and kitten plans, and we also have boarding facilities.

Dr. Kilpatrick and his staff are knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate about their practice. They should be commended for the excellent job that they do. I take both my dogs there, and am very happy.

My dog was drinking a lot so a friend said she brought her cat there and they were ok but she said she tripped and almost fell on the scale in the hall and no one really cared. but she said the doc. seemed nice. so I brought my dog and doc said she was diabetic...he was very nice. that visit was around $300+ it included senior blood work plus dry and wt food. I've taken her twice a day for two weeks to check her sugar. I give her the shots twice a day. Blood work costs $39.00 a day. they gave me 10 needles to start--it took 5 days for them to get Vetsulin. When I asked about needles they said go to my pharmacy. I went to mine and three others and called pet clinic..no one had these specific needles. So for 1 injection I sterilized the needle I had already used and used it twice, just one time. I ordered needles on line, so they gave me pack of ten more so I felt good about it. I said I'd pay for them and the vetsulin they gave her. Today I brought her in morn, her sugar was 700's, in afternoon 99...good. I asked assistant to write up the graph of dog's numbers..."not now, when you have the time...you're busy now. So I brought dog to car...it's hot so left ac on, and went back into office to tell them I'll pay tomorrow, as the other office woman let me pay for both visits at end of the day. Well this one went into vet room then this other assistant comes out ranting that I cannot use needles twice...I said I know I only did it once but she insisted the vet was quite angry, on & on. And I said I couldn't find needles...they should have let me know specifically who carried them. She went on and on and of course I was just where she waned me...agitated. So she said we can't have you here, you're not the type of client we want...we're not a charity clinic. So I paid, got all my papers, thanked the people who were nice, and left. There was no need to bring up that needle use...it was not an issue.
