I spend a lot of time at a hotel across the street from this gym and always receive a complimentary pass to workout there.

Staff: Not helpful, especially if you try to bring something to their attention that needs to be fixed. Excuses abound. In fact, they become very defensive and can offer no relief or time frame when they will take care of a problem.
They seem to be glued to their Iphones and social media at the expense of providing good customer service.

Trainers: From what I've seen if you want a trainer that will follow you around with a clipboard while you go to different machines, then this is the place for you. Disturbingly, I witnessed many times when the trainer would leave the trainee doing exercises to take care of something at the front counter or visit with other patrons. This behavior is an accident waiting to happen.

Machines: You'll find numerous units that flat out don't work and ones that should have been pulled from the floor years ago. There are a limited number of machines, especially cardio, so be ready to wait. You will also find machines that are missing pins making you search for one to steal from another machine.

You won't find an abundance of new modern machines at this gym. The selection is slim and mostly outdated.

Pool: The "heated" pool is cold. How hard can it be to provide your customers with a heated indoor pool? In this case the gym hasn't prevented the cold water from the outdoor pool from coming in to the inside pool. A glaring shortcoming that should have been remedied long ago
BTW, there are six working chairs around the pool The other dozen or so are completely unusable and trashed. The great mystery is why they haven't been hauled away to the trash pile.

Urgency: There is not sense of urgency from the owner or the staff to take care of issues quickly and professionally. What you get is excuses and promises about how great things will be in the future.

Water: They actually took away the water coolers from the gym, leaving one water fountain for the entire facility, including upstairs and downstairs. How destitute must you be to yank water coolers from a gym?

Plumbing: There is some kind of underlying problem with the plumbing that needs to be fixed. Expect toilets not to flush completely and leave a mess when you want to go.

Locker room. While there are curtains up for the showers that will be all the privacy your can expect. There is nowhere to get dressed in private.

Racquetball: I'm a big racquetball fan. I was surprised to find that the gym has co-opted racquet ball courts for other uses. The single court left need a lot of repair. The floor is uneven and they've actually installed a basketball hoop inside the court, which stops play consistently.

In short, stay away from this gym if at all possible. There are plenty of good gyms in Hot Springs that will provide you with good customer service, machines that work and a place where your can complete your workout while focusing on your workout and not the huge problems with this place
