When you get a referral to see Dr. Tran, don't expect to actually see him. For the two times that I've gone, I saw another Dr. and a PA in his office. It was disconcerting because on the second time the office was empty but his PA saw me. Additionally, after she left I could hear her consulting him about my case in the next room. After a few mins he walked in wo introducing himself and started to ask me questions. I made a point of asking if he's Dr. Tran as I've never met him before. He quickly asked me questions and then left in a hurry. I was told to get labs and that he would req for additional labs from my insurance company. 2 weeks later his office aide who told me that my labs were high normal and relayed instructions on how to increase my medication dosage. I think when a pt's labs are abnormal or high enough that an intervention should be made, the Dr. should call the pt personally. I had questions about my labs but they could not be answered by his office aide. She didn't offer to have the Dr. call me back but rather said if it was concerning he would have me come in. I asked about my referrals and was told they weren't approved yet. Its been a month since my last visit and I finally had to call back to see if they were approved to find that they were 2 days after my last visit. I know human errors can be made and Dr's are busy but when you look at the whole picture I would not choose this Dr's office if my insurance company had let me choose. I didn't feel like there was adequate follow up (which is one of the most important factor in managing a chronic disease state) and that Dr. Tran either doesn't care about his pt or that professionally he has terrible bedside manners. Seems like he thinks of his pts as cases rather than people.
