I have never written a negative review for any business that I've visited, but I feel like I absolutely should this time just to warn the public. I visited Hairlines on W. Walnut in Rogers on Friday 1/17/14. My regular stylist couldn't get me in for a few weeks so I thought I would try someplace new -- BIG MISTAKE!!!!! The FIRST stylist I dealt with was Casey. She looked very young which made me nervous, so I asked her how long she had been doing hair. She told me 2.5 years....and this made me feel better. So we chat about what I wanted....a color and cut. My natural color is medium brown, but I had gotten really light highlights previously and I was ready to be just one color again. So Casey suggested we just go back to my natural color, which was fine with me. We looked at color swatches and she brought over another stylist to help her pick out the color. It looked very dark to me and when I mentioned this I was told that it was definitely my natural color because it matched my roots. Okay -- you're the professional. So we go through the process of coloring my hair and when it's finished Casey turns my chair around so I wasn't facing the mirror. She began to blow dry my hair and I asked her if she was planning to cut it dry and she responded that she was. After my hair was dry she spun me around toward the mirror and my hair was BLACK....DARK, DARK GOTHIC BLACK!!!!! It was horrible and no where near my natural color. She could tell I was a little freaked out and assured me that it would lighten up. I should have left right then, but I didn't. I really needed the cut. We discussed the style again that I wanted and I showed her a picture...not a picture of a model with an awesome cut, it was a picture of ME from a couple of years earlier. I loved the cut I had gotten and wanted to have it again. She assured me that it was no problem. Well, she was WRONG!!! She again turned me around so my back was facing the mirror and began to cut and cut and cut...finally she turned me back around and I was horrified. By this time I'd been in the salon for about 3 hours and my hair was going from bad to worse. I can't even explain what it looked like and even the stylist at the station beside me had a horrified look on her face. The bottom of my hair was literally butchered. Casey left to consult with another stylist who came to "rescue" me. Donnely then asked me what cut I wanted and again, I showed her the picture of me from a couple years earlier and she assured me that she could do the cut but it would need to be a bit shorter so she could fix what Casey had messed up. Fine!!! I would deal with it a little shorter if she could fix it. I moved to her station and she went to work. The end result was NOTHING like I asked for (again...it was a picture of me...MY HAIR, from a couple of years earlier) and the color was ridiculous. Instead of my hair brushing my shoulders, medium brown with the cute cut that I asked for, my hair is just at my chin, gothic black and so badly cut that the sides literally poof out right at my ears. It's truly ridiculous!! I left there tired (all of this took 4 hours), thinking it would be ok because I would go home and wash it and I would be able to do something with it. I spent that entire weekend trying to fix my hair but there was nothing that could be done. The color had damaged my hair and the cut could not be tamed. On Monday, I called the salon and spoke with the receptionist. I explained that I was incredibly dissatisfied with my cut and color...she immediately said she remembered me and offered to make an appointment to come back so someone could fix it. That was the last thing I wanted to do. I paid $157 for a cut and color and I just wanted my money back so I could go to someone with experience and have it fixed. She told me she would have to speak with the owner and have her call me back. It's been over a week now and I've heard NOTHING from the owner. I was able to go somewhere else and have my hair fixed, but the damage from the color wasn't fixable. My hair is brittle and no longer feels soft and silky. I was able to get the cut fixed and while it's not what I originally asked for, it does look MUCH better that what Hairlines did to me. Several people at the salon where I had my hair fixed were mortified that another salon did this to my hair and let me walk out of there with a cut that was so bad!! They said they wouldn't want a customer to tell people where they'd gotten their hair done with the cut that I had. I'm very upset that the owner didn't even have the decency to call me back...they didn't even pretend to care that I was upset with the services I received. I would NEVER go back to Hairlines and if you're in the market for a new stylist PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.

I've never seen anyone who is more respected by their staff. The entire staff only had great things to say about working there, and it made me want to return all the more. Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. They really go above and beyond to make me feel special. I've never been anywhere that seems to care more about their clients than here. Every time I come here they always remember me by name and greet me as soon as I walk in the door, even if it's been months since my last appointment. They are so thoughtful and amazingly sweet, I just love this place.
