Aweful employees, I was pretty much chased out of the salon because I have tattoos. The stylist asked if I worked after stating that it would be very expensive to get my hair done. She also stated that she did not have the skills to do foils and would need use a cap, even though my hair is down to the bottom of my back! I was informed that the stylist that I encountered did not want to do my hair because I was "thug" looking. Let me clear that misconception up: Yes, I do infact have a partial sleeve tattoo (spent $1500.00 on it) dedicated to the memory of my brother who recently passed away. I have spent my life assisting others in realizing their potential and self worth, utilizing the masters degree in social work that I earned...I graduated at the top of my class. I am currently in a second masters program for public administration and completing my clinical hours to gain my LCSW to be a therapist. I realize that I do not owe you an explanation of my credentials, however felt it necessary when you judged me to be a jobless thug. I don't know that I have ever looked up the definition of thug but I am willing to bet that the description that I just provided would not be what I would find. To the individuals reading this review, my only suggestion would be to take your business elsewhere. Granted, if you are a middle age woman of white (tattoo free) skin color, lacking all other distinctions that set you apart from what this woman feels is acceptable then you may have an okay experiece here. I would like to point out that it was not the owner of this salon who treated me this way; however as you all know, it is our empolyees who represent us as a business owner; if this is the image that you endorce then by all means keep this woman on staff...if not, I would suggest she might fit in better elsewhere...If it were me, I would probably hire (or rent booths to) those who do not discriminate. Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to read this as I am always advocating for those who are silenced by others..even if that person is myself.
