This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a salon. The girl that I used to go to regularly had moved away, so I was trying to find a new salon. I called around to different salons, comparing prices, before I finally called Class Act. I asked them how much a cut and color would be, and was told $45. I was shocked to hear such a low price, so I repeated it back to the woman on the phone and asked again. She assured me that it was the correct price for what I needed done. She was able to fit me in the next morning. It was fairly easy to find, as it is on the main road, but very easy to pass up. When I walked into the salon, there were a couple of stylists working with customers and a couple of them sitting and chatting. I was looked at by just about every single person who worked there and not even one of them said hello. It seemed like everyone was more concerned with their regular clients and gossiping. I felt very uncomfortable and out of place. My appointment was booked for 11:00 and no one even approached me until nearly 11:30, even though there were people who clearly were not busy at all. I tried explaining to the woman who was about to do my hair what exactly I wanted done, and in between chatting to everyone around except me, she would shake her head and laugh a little, telling me that what I was asking for wouldn't be right for my hair. (this was what i regularly had done to my hair the past couple of years and was always entirely happy with the result.) I went back and forth with her a bit, but the fact that she was so adamant about not doing it made me feel like she was incapable of doing it the way I wanted anyway. She ended up just washing it and snipping off the ends. It looked exactly the same as it did when I walked in the door, if not worse. The cut was very blunt and choppy. It looked like I cut it myself with my eyes closed (which actually probably would've yielded better results). When she was done, she had suggested some new products that would be good for my hair and that she had some small sample bottles for me to try out. She gave me a sample pack with three very small bottles, which turned out to not be free anyway. Each bottle said "free sample", yet they slapped a $20 price tag on. I figured I would try it out anyway, despite what I was told, since the whole visit was mostly pointless. Perhaps it would be a decent product. I approached the counter to pay and stood in what i thought was a line of people waiting to do the same. It turned out to just be a cluster of employees hanging out at the reception desk eating and ignoring me. Except for the woman who wasted my time, standing next to me with her hand out. She didn't bother saying anything, just stood with her hand physically stretched out in my general direction. I apologized and said that I thought it was a line of customers. Her response was "That's $55." I looked at her blankly and reminded her that I was told over the phone when I booked my appointment that it would be just $45 for a cut AND color, when all I got done was a choppy trim and a couple of small products. She laughed like what I was saying was ridiculous and that no one could've possibly made that mistake over the phone. Everyone who worked there looked at me like I was crazy. I was beyond furious. I argued with them a bit more, but clearly wasn't getting through to anyone, so I handed her the money and stormed out. I wish I hadn't bothered paying at all. Since the experience, I've been very leery about trying out any new salons. However, I just had my hair done at another salon for half the price and the exact results that I had hoped for (and originally asked for at Class Act). I wouldn't be surprised if the other reviews on here were written by the staff themselves.
