About

Tracey Hefter, Ph.D.

“I specialize in working with adults and couples with anxiety, self esteem, identity, intimacy and relationship issues. Many years of experience and training enables me to help create a safe place in which couples and individuals can identify their concerns and develop a better understanding of themselves. This insight and support often leads to an expansion of choices and more satisfying ways of being and relating. Helping people with transitions such as break-ups, starting/advancing careers, divorce and creating a family is a particular specialty of mine. Life changes can be extremely stressful but also an opportunity for growth.I view therapy as a collaborative process. I help individuals and couples discover and clarify patterns that impede their attempts to relate in a way that feels satisfying. I draw on contemporary psychodynamic theory to help explain how relationships and events both past/present impact their sense of well being.
