If there were a zero rating for Troy Hills in Parsippany I would elect to give that rating. My elderly relative with advanced dementia needed skilled nursing care and some physical therapy and we moved her here for a few months. She was often not clean, was not taken care of properly and was ignored physically and emotionally. The physical therapy staff was the only decent department helping her with walking skills to a certain point. Other than that the common practice was to put those who had a dementia diagnosis in the large day room to just sit. I had to write emails, call and speak with the management to include her in activities, to get her out of bed at a normal hour and to make sure she and her living space were clean. They also lost some of the clothes I had brought for her which was just the icing on the cake. We took her out of Troy as soon as we found that the management was not responsive. I would never put anyone in this facility again.

Do your research before you commit. My mother (88) just
in for a week or so for rehab, lasted one night. Searched her body, wanted blood (after just being released from the hospital, and sure they took many bloods) treated her like she had no marbles. Guess her bathroom had the only shower in the wing. Residents were lined up to shower in her room while she was sitting on her bed. So much for, privacy. Breakfast of scrambled eggs, a tiny muffin thing, one cup of coffee, a little farina was sparse to say the least. Left with cards of her drugs with no dispense information. I know there must be worse places but I'm sure there are better ones as well. Will never send her or anyone I know there.
