my son was recently put in Normandy nursing facility here are some things I noticed when visiting
staff does not know or look up rules and procedures
walls falling down by front door wires exposed.
unpainted plywood covering windows by office
no visitor badges issued
elavater needs maintenance scary to use
no clocks in residents room or any where in building
residents room has tracks on ceiling from curtains and still has some pieces of curtains hanging from them
drop ceiling has been painted not replaced areas have also been missed
walls in residents room have been painted missing areas
no seating in residents room other than beds
drive and parking area in need of repair
no fire extinguishers visible
staff not wear uniforms or badges cant tell them from residents.
no one allowed outside unless they smoke
no ids or bracelets on clients
no personal storage by all beds
no pictures on wall in building
no labeling of all doors
gathering area downstairs has minimal seating and no furniture that is home like only cheap straight back chairs
leaves have not been removed from smoking area causing fire hazard
no nurse call button in residents room
cannot call and talk to any resident or leave a message they must call out
only one phone for 100 residents to use

This is the worst Nursing Center I ever seen! They continuously lie to family members, the residents are left in their own feces for hours, the conditions are inhumane, the workers do not know their jobs. It is nasty! DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IN THIS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS AND THE STAFF LIE AND COVER UP THEIR MESS!!!
