Mission Terrace

Nestled in between the hills of Samarkand, the Santa Barbara mesa and the terraced hills of the American Riviera, Mission Terrace is Southern California’s premier five star skilled nursing facility and the first choice of specialists in cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, internal medicine, and general practitioners alike.

Mission Terrace’s physician-led interdisciplinary rehabilitation team and skilled nursing staff work closely with residents and their families to provide top quality assisted living and rehabilitation services to maximize the recovery period. Whether at Mission Terrace for a short or more extended stay, residents receive the highest level of medical care and attention to their every need with an unparalleled level of dignity and respect.

Said to resemble more of a luxury resort than a convalescent hospital, Mission Terrace takes pride in providing an elegant atmosphere with graceful furnishings, collected artwork and lovely grounds. Select rooms surround a serene central courtyard featuring a garden, rambling brook, koi pond and umbrella seating for leisurely visits.

Dining at Mission Terrace is an incomparable gourmet experience brought to you in collaboration by a licensed dietitian, executive chef, and team of culinary institute-trained assistants. Fresh, seasonal cuisine is tailored to individual physicians’ orders and can be enjoyed in the luxurious sky-lit dining room or in room, depending upon preference.

Mission Terrace prioritizes comfort and an exceptional quality of life and was designed to encourage family and friends to spend time with their loved ones. Residents can also enjoy exercise classes, movies and entertainment, artful pursuits, a beauty salon, religious services and more. Mission Terrace maintains that life’s simple pleasures are not only good for the heart and soul; they are also good for the health!

Our goal at Mission Terrace is to provide the finest quality rehabilitation services and exceptional care by our dedicated staff while making our residents feel they are enjoying a comfortable respite at their home away from home. Primary Specialty

Nursing Home

Services The Rehabilitation Program at Mission Terrace is the first choice of Santa Barbara orthopedic, cardiothoracic, trauma, and neurosurgeons for the optimal recovery of their post-operative patients. Specialists in cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, and internal medicine choose Mission Terrace for rehabilitation from nearly any medical condition.

Our licensed nurses are on duty 24-hours per day to address residents’ medical and personal needs. Mission Terrace nurses understand the individualized needs of all populations served: short and intermediate-term rehabilitation, respite, hospice, and long-term care.

Specialized nursing services include IV therapy, monitoring and treatment of diabetes, cardiac, pulmonary, neurological conditions, and behavior management. Plastic, vascular and general surgeons trust our Certified Wound Care Specialist to treat residents’ most complicated wounds.

The Restorative Nursing Assistants (RNAs) reinforce gains made in therapy at all hours. They assist residents as needed while allowing and encouraging their gradual independence with mobility and self-care, under the direction of physical, occupational and speech therapists. The heart of our program is the direct care provided by our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).

Our physician-led interdisciplinary rehabilitation team is comprised of physical, occupational and speech therapists who work together to achieve residents’ independent return home, or one that requires substantially less assistance.

Excellent care at this five star facility. My 90 yr old grandmother was here for several months recuperating from a broken leg and hip after a fall. She is young for her age and appreciates all the activities they provide. On any given day, there are several things going on which really helps pass the time in between therapy sessions. You wouldn’t believe the food put out by the executive chef. I thought I was at a five star restaurant, not a rehabilitation center! The nurses were warm and professional and always had her smiling.

Mom is doing really well at Mission Terrace and enjoys the activities and music performances very much. For us, the most important thing is that she is happy and comfortable and she is both thanks to the wonderful care of the staff.
