I have waited to place a review of this facility because I didn't think I would be able to give a fair review. I has been over 6 months and I think people have a right to know what they are getting into when they put their loved one in this facility. 1st of all DO NOT accept all the propaganda they give you to get you to come to the facility. I recommend you talk to the people who are living their for their opinion. They will tell you they can do all the things you want to hear. Response time when a patient calls, when in fact they are very understaffed and in my situation we have waited over and hour or more at times to get a CNA in to help. My loved one spent more time in isolation due to an infection he developed after he got there. He didn't receive the rehab he needed due to this infection and they just wasted all of his Medicare days then we were told he would have to leave because he would be running out of his days and it was better to put him in another facility before that happens because he was going to have to go on public aid due to lack of finances.
Bottom line it is ALL about money and not enough about kindness, proper care, and staffing.

I removed my mother from this facility AMA. They could not complete the necessary paperwork with a three day notice. The establishment never returned phone calls and moved my mother without my consent to the dementia unit. It was their policy to simply leave a message and they did not have to reach the guardian. This is what I was told when I questioned them on this. They do not return phone calls, they can not locate a thermometer, nor can they control the air condoning in the patients room. The blower was next to my mother and she complained about it, as I did. I was told that there was nothing that they could do. Unfortunately, it led to my mothers bout with pneumonia which went undiagnosed at Lexington but was diagnosed immediately at her current facility. I have waited for 14months to write this review because I did not want to write it with the raw emotion that I felt in late August of 2012. I will share that she is in a different facility that exceeds any expectations that I have ever had for a Medicaid approved facility. It may be a bit further west than Orland Park but well worth the extra 10 minute ride.
