The facility is attractive and the staff is pleasant. But I've had needless difficulty reaching my sister staying there. (After my sister had been moved to a new room, she was not told her new telephone number. I called her old number and was given a new number that turned out to be a number at the Oregon Department of Revenue. I called again and the person who answered said she didn't have the correct number or know where to get it. After I called the main number of Friendship House several times and was finally lucky enough to reach someone, I took the initiative to specifically ask to be connected to the room. Finally, I reached my sister but staff repeated that they had no way to find out the correct number to enable me to call her directly.) More generally, it isn't possible to reach someone in charge at Friendship House who can help solve problems. There is no working website, let alone one with names and contact information to allow communication with key staff. It seems this facility has been organized to filter out expressions of concern or suggestions by relatives or friends of persons living there. This may make life easier for staff, but it doesn't help staff improve their quality of service.
