I did not feel safe with them at all. I was scared that something was going to go wrong. Remembering clients by name is not a very big concern for the staff here because every time I come in for an appointment I constantly have to remind them who I am. It would be nice to be recognized at least once is all I'm saying. They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered.

The staff tied my family member's bed linen was so tight I had to use two hands to pull them out from underneath him. The linen was tied tight on purpose to prevent his movement. He also had a urine bottle wedged between his legs from at least 830am-1115am. Due to the amount of urine in the bottle, I suspect that it had been there all night. At 930am I requested that he be cleaned up and taken out of bed, this request was made to the Nurse on duty in the hallway. I was told it would be done shortly. At 1030am I went to see the Director of Nursing Services and asked her to have him cleaned up. She left the room and returned 5 minutes later and said he would be cleaned up in 15 minutes. At 1115am, two staff members removed him from his bed and took him to the shower room.

I left the facility at 1215pm.

I returned home and called Director of Social Servicesand brought this to his attention. He then had Director of Nursing Services: get on the phone. I was told by her that she would contact me by Monday, April 5, 2010 concerning my allegations. To this date, no one has contacted me.

Three days later my relative was admitted to local Hospital (Silver Spring) due to hydration and a bladder infection. The hospital noted on their admittance form that my relative had severe bruising on his buttocks and knee.

I contacted the Long-Term Care Ombudsman (240-777-3369) for Montgomery County on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 to file a complaint.

On April 7, 2010 I Filed an electronic complaint with The Maryland Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) is the agency within the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Staff appeared extremely indifferent. Would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy.
