This nursing home is horrible!! The administrator Larry Banks is not able to work as an administrator in the state of Michigan, so his family lives in Michigan and he drives here to practice. I found this: Larry Banks, Ada, MI – nursing home administrator license (044-010602) reprimanded and fined $500 after being disciplined by the state of Michigan. Google his name. I overheard the staff saying the DON covered up a resident death that happened at the facility and the coroners uncovered it and contacted the state. I was visiting my mom on the first floor and I overheard the nurse and CNA talking abusively to another resident they were putting to bed. I was looking for my mothers nurse for a while. When I found him he was coming out of another room with another nurse adjusting his pants. That is another issue. At bedtime the staff is very hard to locate. I have waited for help for hours. You would think that on a busy floor like the first floor where visitors can see everything they would at least pretend to care. There is an article I found titled Nursing Home Abuse: Degrading Care At Community Nursing and Rehab Center by Barry G. Boyle. Read it! There was a resident that got MAGGOTS in their wound due to the poor care and you can verify this with the state. The staff always speaks in languages you can't understand, which makes me and my mom extremely uncomfortable. My mother had money stolen from her. When I reported this they treated me like I was somehow bad for saying something.

I had my husband there for 1 week. Never had a good feeling about the place. Staff didn't seem to like their job. They were impersonal & uncaring. My husband had a serious fall that landed him in the emergency room. I could never get anyone including the owner/administrator or the Director of Nursing to give me an explanation of what occurred during his fall. This happened 3 yrs ago and I've told everyone I know about our experience. How bad is it when even the administrator won't come forward and talk about the incident. He had no trouble charging me for the short stay though.
