The nursing staff was friendly and did their job well. My sister, mother and I had a good rapport with several members on the staff. The facility is clean, but it is an old building and has a musty smell.
However, BEWARE, the administrator, Angel, is very unprofessional. She lies and does not return calls. The Social Workers also have a difficult time remembering the truth and returning calls. Before Christmas 2013, my mother was in Respiratory Distress and Congestive Heart Failure and had 911 called by the staff at Collingwood. At this time, her designer "Dior" glasses mysteriously disappeared, along with Molly, the person who last handled them. This person made up a ridiculous story stating that "my mom wanted her glasses on" before she was rushed to the ER and placed on a ventilator for nine days. How ridiculous is that story!?! My mother was dying!!! That same person conveniently stopped working at Collingwood Manor a couple days later. We found this out through a staff member. The hospital records show my mom did not come in with any personal property. (My mother bought the designer glasses to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. The glasses meant even more to my mom because my father passed away in January 2013. She was heartbroken when she found out they were gone!)
When trying to get this matter settled, my sister and I received the run-around from the social workers and the administrator for over a month. We were told we would be called back several times. The calls never came. When I tried to see Angel, I was told she was busy! On January 30, 2014, my mom's final day at Collingwood, I FINALLY spoke to Angel, she guaranteed me that she would have the glasses replaced. She told me she knew they had sentimental value to my mother and wanted her happy. Angel was given the receipt and place of purchase. She said she would call the Eye Physicians Medical Center within a day or two and the glasses would be replaced with the same pair. THAT CALL WAS NEVER PLACED! I have called Angel and left messages; like before and to this day, February 26, 2014, I have not been called back! BEWARE!!! If you have any issues, GOOD LUCK!!!

I was in a lot of pain during my visit that I feel could have definitely been avoided if they had been more careful. They need to treat their staff with more respect. They weren't overly rude but they could have been a lot nicer. Every time I visit, I have to remind them why I'm visiting them. It makes me feel like they don't care about me. I wish they gave me good advice, but most of the time they only give me advice that would benefit them. I swallowed my dentures here.......
