Recent Reviews
We should have researched the doctors associated with the nursing home more. Our mom entered as a fairly healthy individual and within 6 months we lost her. I reported our concerns about drugging her to the State of Michigan but they ruled that the nursing home was in compliance. Be sure to take pictures and record everything if you have any concerns about your loved ones care. Without proof you have nothing.

Applewood is severely understaffed. Response time for Aids when the call button is pushed ranged from 30 minutes to an hour. My grandma sat in a wet diaper until someone could come and change her. After 4 months she came home with a bed sore, a urinary tract infection, and a bowel impaction. Rehab said she was ready to go home. She fell the second day she was home. One week later she was in the hospital and is now at a different nursing home. The staff do their best here but they just don't have the time to care for their patients the way they need to be cared for.
