Training I received my both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from New York University. I am a Certified School Social Worker and a Certified School Counselor K-12 with experience in the school setting. With experience as a Diversity Trainer in the school system, I have extensive knowledge with regard to equity, diversity, cultural sensitivity and dynamics, and how these factors influence the individual and the family system. Notable experience working with children and families includes participation and training in the Columbia University Teen Screen Program: Mental Health Check-ups for Youth; the University Behavioral Healthcare Behavioral Research & Training Institute – Social Decision Making/Problem Solving Program; the New Jersey Health Education Assessment Project Member (HEAP); Team Coordinator/Mental Health Consultant in the Families and Schools Together (FAST) program of Family Service of Morris from August 2005 – March 2006. The primary focus of the program is to prevent substance abuse and promote family cohesion. Utilizing a systems approach, the child, family, school, and community work together to also prevent school failure. Training with the Morris County Sexual Assault Center from 2002 until 2003, I provided crisis counseling, individual counseling and advocacy services for male and female sexual assault victims, ages 13 and up, and their family members and completed training to become a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team as well as receiving Sexual Offender training.
