About

Sara Denning, Ph.D.

Change the way you react to stress. . This new method of changing behaviors around symptoms is based on affective neurological research which provides ample proof that the brain is a very adaptive mechanism. Using past and present experience - the brain uses adaptive behavior to personalize the meaning of stress Adaptive Behavioral Therapy differs from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in its emphasis on learned primed - responses and the creation of new adaptive reactions to stress. More emphasis is on rehearsal of new tools as stress appears.

I was referred to Dr. Denning after undergoing treatment with another therapist for 6 months with little to no results. After my first conversation with Dr. Denning, I knew I had finally found what I was looking for during this difficult period in my life (unemployed, faced with my husband's affair and going through a divorce within a year of marriage). Working through "My Anxiety Notebook" taught me many coping skills that helped me manage my panic attacks and bouts of severe anxiety. Dr. Denning was instrumental in helping me work through my problems and even today, I still use many of her suggested coping methods. I've since moved away from NYC but I still remember our sessions fondly and recommend her wholeheartedly
