She fixed a problem that I had been experiencing for MONTHS and seen several other doctors and OBGYNs who said it was untreatable. She is brilliant.

I saw Gage beginning in 2006. She was treating me for heavy periods and fibroids. She performed an in-office biopsy, which was very painful because she wouldn't listen to me when I said ordinary pain meds don't work on me. In fact, she alluded that I was a drug addict, which is ridiculous. An ablation (burning of the uterus to remove fibroids) was performed soon after, along with a tubal. During the pre-op for the ablation, she forgot she was doing a tubal on me, even though we had discussed it at length in a previous appointment. She also pressured me about having kids because "she could help me with that." After the ablation, I had adverse symptoms, she prescribed me a hormone pill over the phone with no exam. I ended up on my couch for two days, she never returned my pages. Her nurse called me three days after the adverse reaction. I saw Gage that following week. She was exceedingly rude, inattentive and said "well...you wouldn't call your lawyer on the weekend and expect him to call you back without getting paid, would you???" I was stunned. I replied that no I wouldn't, but my lawyer doesn't prescribe medication which could lead to adverse reactions. She replied "That's what emergency rooms are for...."That was the last conversation I ever had with that incompetent excuse for a doctor. I ended up going to another OB/GYN...she was wonderful but unfortunately, couldn't save my uterus or left ovary due to endometriosis covering both of them and adhering to my small intestine. Seven months later I lost the other ovary. I was on hormone replacement at the age of 35. If Gage would have practiced due diligence in catching it, I may have had a shot at keeping them. I asked my current doctor if she thought 6 months (the time between the ablation and hysterectomy) to grow that much scar tissue and endo was feasible. She said it had been in there a LOT longer than that because I was covered in it. Even my bladder was encapsulated.Bottom line is Gage does not care about anything except high risk pregnancies, probably because it feeds her over weening ego and narcissism.I have met two other patients of hers who experienced bad medical care, it seems like it's an epidemic here in Olympia.Gage likes to paint her patients as having anxiety/depression/some other mental disorder she is not qualified to diagnose etc...but I think the lesson she should take away from this is 'physician heal thyself.'
