Believe everyone when they say these guys suck. They wait months to send you a bill. And by that time they have sent it to debt collectors. They never even billed my insurance. They have brick for brains at this place.

Although it may be hard to do, avoid this lab if possible. I know you don't always have a choice or even know where your blood work is going when you visit a hospital, but if you have a choice I wouldn't recommend this facility. I had blood work sent here while in the hospital at Baylor Irving. I can't vouch for the quality of work done by this facility since it's one of those numerous things you never witness during your hospital stay, yet are billed for at a later date. But I can say I have had first hand experience dealing with their billing office, which we later found is contracted out. We received our first bill 3+ months after my hospital stay and AFTER they had sent our account to collections. The bill they sent was for twice the amount our insurance company assured us we owed. My husband spoke to someone in billing, had the account adjusted, and paid the bill. Then we started receiving calls from a debt collector, which was, quite franking, embarrassing. The debt collection company was (surprisingly) much more cordial to me than the woman in billing for Irving Labs. I was given the fax number and told to have Irving Labs just send a copy of my account with a $0 balance and all would be well. The billing office at Irving Labs REFUSED to do this until the end of the month "per policy." So much about the situation doesn't make sense- the lack of bills, the incorrect bill received months later, the unwillingness to release information about our account to the collection agency. So here we sit, virtual middlemen with an account in good standing, stuck in the middle of a standoff between the billing offices of Irving Labs and a debt collector. I understand that people make mistakes, but I hope I don't end up paying for someone else's incompetence with an unnecessary hit to my credit score.
